Code of Conduct


Holwell Sports Football Club is a proudly inclusive, family-focused grassroots club committed to ensuring our home ground at Welby Road, Melton Mowbray offers a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.

By attending fixtures and events, supporters agree to comply with our Supporters Code of Conduct and Ground Regulations.

We have a zero tolerance policy toward unacceptable or anti-social behaviour—whether at Welby Road or at away grounds where Holwell Sports FC competes.

Club Values & Expectations
Supporters must behave responsibly and represent our club values with pride, respect, and integrity. That includes:

  • Supporting the team in a respectful, sportsmanlike way
  • Respecting fellow supporters, stewards, volunteers, and club staff
  • Cooperating fully with instructions from club and safety personnel

Unacceptable Conduct
Unacceptable conduct includes, but is not limited to:
1. Violent or Disorderly Behaviour

  • Physical violence or threats toward others
  • Damage or attempted damage to property

2. Discriminatory or Abusive Conduct
  1. Hate speech or behaviour based on race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability
  2. Threatening, abusive, or insulting language, gestures, or imagery

3. Pitch Encroachment
  • Entering the playing area is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate ejection and club bans

4. Prohibited Items & Substances
  • Flares, pyrotechnics, illegal drugs, alcohol, glass containers, laser devices, or any item listed in Ground Regulations

5. Social Media Misconduct
  • Any use of social media that is abusive, discriminatory, or harmful will be investigated
  • Racist, xenophobic or discriminatory behaviour online is unacceptable and may trigger further club or legal action

Breaches & Disciplinary Action
Supporters found guilty of misconduct - whether at Welby Road or other venues - may face:

  • Refusal of entry or removal from the stadium
  • Written warnings
  • Temporary or indefinite club bans
  • Possible referral to the Police and/or Football Banning Orders
  • Actions consistent with the Public Order Act 1986 and Football Spectators Act 1989

Holwell Sports FC works closely with local authorities and Leicestershire Police to investigate and act on breaches as appropriate.

Amendments and Communications
This Code of Conduct may be updated from time to time. All changes will be made available on the official Holwell Sports FC website.
